"I enjoyed playing pick up with the guys which was competitive and fun," Kelly said. "The football game was exciting and it was a great victory for their team."
Kelly, a 6-foot-10, 205-pound forward, declined further comment. The five-star prospect appears to be shutting things down from a media standpoint for a few days, so he can concentrate on hashing out a decision.
Over the course of the past two months, Kelly has taken official visits to Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Notre Dame and Georgetown. To go with those trips, he took multiple trips to Duke and closed out the visit process with his trip to UNC.
"I think it's safe to assume that while everyone has their guess as to where Ryan Kelly lands, there may be only two people on the planet who know and they aren't telling," Scout.com's Dave Telep said.
"Throughout the process Ryan's kept his own timetable. He was committed to finding a personality match and a program where he connected with the players. I assume we're days away from finding out the answer. If anyone tells you they know, don't buy stock from them."
Whoever scores the Raleigh (N.C.) Ravenscroft standout will get a nice jolt to their 2009 recruiting class. Kelly spent the spring and summer bolstering his reputation and finished the summer ranked No. 11 overall and No. 3 at the power forward position.
While there isn't an exact timetable for Kelly's decision, it sounds like a decision could likely come as soon as this week.
