"Carl Smalls, a sophomore defensive tackle at North Carolina, was shot and killed early Saturday in Columbia, S.C. Smalls, 22, was shot at a party at a private club sometime around 2 a.m., said Lt. Joseph Pellicci of the Richland County Sheriff's Department. Pellicci said Saturday evening there were no suspects in the shooting."
