Today's Carolina links from around the ‘net.......

Tyler Hansbrough can't remember the first points he scored at North Carolina. But it seems unlikely that he'll forget the ninth point, provided he matches his average, he scores when UNC plays Evansville at 7 p.m. today at the Smith Center. Nine points are all that Hansbrough, a 6-9 senior who averages 22.8 points, needs to surpass Phil Ford as the Tar Heels' career scoring lead.

It took three decades -- and a North Carolina player willing to stay four seasons -- to put Phil Ford's school career scoring record for points in jeopardy. Senior forward Tyler Hansbrough needs nine points to break it tonight. But one UNC scoring mark that may never be broken is Lennie Rosenbluth's 26.9 points-per-game average, set from 1954 to 1957.

If you were expecting Tyler Hansbrough to give some sort of deep and reflective soliloquy on what it will be like to pass Phil Ford and become North Carolina's all-time leading scorer this evening, then you don't know Tyler Hansbrough. So it was with predictable simplicity Wednesday afternoon that Hansbrough offered this straightforward take on reaching that milestone: "I do think it's a big accomplishment," he said. "I realize with all the great players that have come through Carolina, for me to be up there is really special to me."

One by one, Tyler Hansbrough is knocking some of the program's all-time best players out of the North Carolina basketball record book. Next up -- after Hansbrough picks off Phil Ford on the school's career scoring list -- could be Sam Perkins' career rebounding mark of 1,167.

After Tyler Hansbrough breaks Phil Ford's career scoring record at North Carolina, Bobby Frasor guesses Hansbrough will celebrate by having a protein shake and maybe heading to bed early.

"It's just another game; it's just another game." Over and over the University of Evansville men's basketball players and their coaches have repeated that mantra about tonight's 6 p.m. game in the Dean Smith Center against top-ranked North Carolina.
