"Everything just fit perfect, basically. Everything that I wanted in a school was in the school. And I couldn't find anything wrong with it. So why not just commit to it."
Heading into your final recruiting visit when you visited UNC for a practice, what was your mindset?
"I was already committed by then. I was just taking another visit."
So what was the reason for that visit?
"I just wanted to get a feel for the practice. I hadn't gotten to see a practice at UNC, yet."
How did that visit affect your already-made decision?
"It firmed it up, basically."
When did you exactly make your decision?
"I made it when they came to my house."
What coaches visited?
"There were a lot of coaches. It was Coach [Sam] Pittman, Butch Davis, and [Charlie Williams]."
What did they talk about?
"It was a continuation of how they were the last school to offer me. They were just reaffirming me, because I was already feeling them after the visit."
How ironic is it that the last school to start to recruit you, you end up choosing?
"It was just a blessing that they came in at the right moment for me. Not just to get to see them, but not be so angry that they came in late. They didn't come in that late, so I got a chance to get a feel for them."
What's the game plan for you when you arrive on campus?
"The game plan is just to get ready. From this point on, it's just all training. I'm hoping to get in there and start early."
Where do they see you fitting in on the offensive line?
You've played up and down the offensive line. What are your thoughts on playing left tackle on the collegiate level?
"Tackle is like my home position. I've played guard, I've played center, I've played defensive too, but tackle is where I've started off and played the most."
On the East team with you, you have three UNC verbal commitments. Did you get a chance to spend time with them this week?
"Yea, I got a chance. I actually flew down with Josh Adams he's from up [interstate] 90... It was cool to hang out with some of the kids that I'm going to play with."
Before making your decision, did you contact Josh Adams and perhaps pick his brain?
"Not really. We're friends, we're cool, but it was my decision."
