2010 Recruiting Preview: LB

While the Tar Heel coaches wrap up the 2009 signing class, their recruitment of high school juniors is already well underway. After consulting with inside sources, Inside Carolina provides an exclusive position-by-position preview of the 2010 recruiting board ...

When reviewing this series throughout the week, keep in mind that this is preliminary analysis. Of course, many new recruits will pop up on UNC's recruiting radar and receive offers in the coming months.

Also, the depth chart is fluid. For simplicity, an assumption was made that all of the players who are verbally committed to UNC for 2009 will sign and enroll at UNC. Per the NCAA limit, only 25 freshmen can be brought in per year.

With the influx of the 2009 class, UNC is talented and deep at linebacker for the next two seasons. Kennedy Tinsley is the only linebacker who runs out of eligibility following the 2009 season, but his status is uncertain after being suspended last fall.

In addition to the two listed recruits with offers, UNC is heavily interested, but hasn't formally offered: Jordan Haden (Fort Washington (Md.) Friendly), Brian Laiti (Fairfax (Va.) Robinson), Kendall Moore (Raleigh (N.C.) Southeast), Justin Parker (Beaufort (S.C.)), Prince Shembo (Charlotte (N.C.) Ardrey Kell), and Travis Williams (Norfolk (Va.) Lake Taylor).
