UNC to Play MSU in ACC-Big Ten Challenge

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- ­ North Carolina will play host to Michigan State on Tuesday, December 1, in a rematch of the 2009 NCAA championship game that the Tar Heels won, 89-72, in the 11th annual ACC-Big Ten Challenge.

This will be the fifth meeting between the Tar Heels and Spartans in the last six seasons with Carolina coming out on top in each of those meetings. The schools played twice last year ­ UNC won, 98-63, at Ford Field in Detroit on December 3 in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge. They met again at Ford Field on April 6 for the national championship.

Overall, the Tar Heels lead the series 9-2. The Spartans lead, 2-1, in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge with wins in 1999-2000 and 2000-01.

Carolina is 5-5 in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge with a 2-3 record at home and a 3-2 mark on the road. However, the Tar Heels have won five of the six games played under head coach Roy Williams.
