CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- C.J. Leslie offers the latest information on his recruitment, including an unofficial visit to UNC in the near future.

What is your process looking like at this point with schools?

I'm still wide open as far as schools, just being patient.

Do you even have a list?

Yeah, but it's a long list because I haven't really narrowed anything down, so I just want to make sure that I really take my time with this one.

You mentioned really taking your time. You committed when you were a freshman. In hindsight, do you wish you hadn't done it?

I'm not going to say it was a mistake because—I think it was a learning experience. You learn from experience. I went through it. I know now to take my time.

How did Coach Lowe react when you told him you were opening it back up?

I guess he was a bit shocked. He really didn't want to say too much. He still said he wants to recruit me. It's still one of my schools I'm looking at.

What was it that made you want to open things back up?

I didn't get to see all the schools that I like so I felt like I needed to at least go out and look at some different schools, look at everything I can, so that's what I'm going to do this time.

You look like you have really developed your game from this time last year in terms of handling the ball.

Oh right. I've been in the gym four days a week, and that's how it's going to stay.

What do you need to work on?

What I'm still working on is being sure I bring energy for my team because my team feeds off my energy. I make sure I bring that every single night, and that's what I'm going to do.

How did you end up with the Cobras at this event?

Coach Levi is good friends with the coach, and he came down to the school and talked to me and I liked how he was talking. He was starting a program and was looking for someone really talented to play in his program, so that's what I did.

Are you going to stay with these guys the rest of the summer?

Yes, sir, the whole summer.

You only get recruited once. Is it nice to have the attention now?

I'm enjoying this experienced. I'm loving it.

What do you think you might have missed out on?

Just people talking to me as far as all the letters I'm getting and all the phone calls I'm getting. I'm enjoying it; I love the attention.

That didn't stop anyway. Even though you were committed, they still came, didn't they?

Nah, no sir, they didn't come. Schools respected that I was committed and when I opened it back up, that's when they started calling.

Was it an eye-opening experience to be around John Wall and see the attention that he got as a recruit?

Yeah, seeing that too, I was kind of like ‘Wow!' He was telling me about it. We are really close off the court, so he was telling me about it. I was like, ‘I would really like that too.'

I was talking to John a few minutes ago and asked him what would be a good question to ask you. He said to ask if you are having fun out there.

Of course, man. Talking on the court, everybody having fun. We won, so what more can you ask for.

Sometimes you have a really serious demeanor. Sometimes you are more relaxed. Are there times when you are not having fun?

Nah, I'm not going to say I'm not having fun. It's just my facial expression. Sometimes it comes off the wrong way, so anytime I'm playing this game I'm always loving it. Sometimes my facial expressions throw people off.

Where do you think your game has come the farthest the last couple of years?

Just developing the knowledge of the game, seeing that I really can be a great player.

Tell me about the visit you have scheduled to North Carolina.

Wow, I'm really looking forward to having a great time up here. I'm really going to enjoy that.

Who set that up? Did they ask you to come, or did you ask if you could come?

They asked me to come down, and I was like, ‘Sure, why not?' Carolina is a great school.

When is that going to happen?

Next week sometime. I'm not sure of the day.

Is that an official or an unofficial visit?

It is an unofficial visit.

Have they offered a scholarship?

Yeah, they have.

How many ACC schools are on your radar right now?

Just about everybody, except I haven't talked to Duke. Everybody is on me except for Duke. That's the only school in the ACC that I haven't talked to.

Do you still have interest in NC State?

Yes, I do.

The visit to UNC, there are certain things you can and can't do on an unofficial visit. What is that visit going to be?

I guess I'm going to come and look at the school, look at some of their awards they got. I'm not really sure because I'm not sure what I can and can't do, but when I get here I'm sure they will let me know.

What is the best thing you like about NC State?

I like the coaching staff. Coach Lowe is a really good person, and as far as being a great guy, I can't take anything from him.

What do you like about UNC?

I like seeing all the great people that came out of this school. I'm just going to really find out what they are about next week.
