Edwards discusses his commitment

IC.com spoke with Edwards late Sunday night after his verbal commitment. He talked about his visit to UNC and the time he spent with the coaching staff.

"It was really good. I had a good time and the staff showed me a lot of love. There wasn't any pressure on me to make a decision. I took what they presented and looked at what a degree from there would mean after athletics."

Larry Edwards is the 15th known commitment, and the Tar Heels picked up a 16th in Tennessee linebacker Fred Sparkman, who also visited Chapel Hill this weekend. In the end, UNC coach John Bunting might have been the difference for Edwards.

"Coach Bunting picked me up at the airport and we had some time to talk. He's someone I'd love to play for."

Edwards still plans to take his last two visits to Florida and Iowa.

"It will take a whole lot to top my visit to Chapel Hill."

While he enjoyed the perks of spending time on the town, the difference for Edwards was his time with the UNC staff.

"I think it came down to spending time with the coaches. The other stuff was fun but my memories of the trip are from hanging out with the coaching staff."
