Farms Will Prep

North Carolina signee Johnnie Farms will spend the fall semester prepping after coming up short in his efforts to qualify academically.

"I was shy on my SAT, so now I have to go to [Chatham (Va.)] Hargrave [Military Academy]," Farms said. "I just found out on Thursday."

Farms, a 6-foot-2, 300-pound offensive guard from Perry (Ga.), was expected to see the field for UNC this season as a true freshman.

"I'm very disappointed," Farms said. "But you're going to have setbacks. This is a small setback and I'm going to take it and keep going."

Farms hasn't had any conversations with anyone from Hargrave and isn't sure when he'll exactly enroll. He said Sam Pittman, his primary recruiter, is handling the details now.

Farms said he fully expects to be in the position to enroll in the spring '10 semester at UNC.
