Bunn to Hargrave

North Carolina signee D.J. Bunn will spend the fall semester at Hargrave Military Academy, in Chatham, Va.

UNC Director of Football Operations Joe Haydon broke the news to Bunn on Monday afternoon.

"It will be a good thing for me just because it will allow me to get my academics down and work on football a lot," Bunn said.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound defensive back was holding out hope that his academics had improved enough to be eligible for North Carolina this fall.

"I just received my [SAT] score," Bunn told Inside Carolina on Sunday night. "I'm waiting for the coaches to tell whether or not I actually qualified."

Bunn talked to Hargrave head coach Robert Prunty last week and was informed that he would play multiple positions in the secondary, with a primary emphasis at safety.
