Coach: Hedgemon hedging

Is LaBrose Hedgemon a solid commitment to North Carolina? <i>Inside Carolina</i>'s Andy Britt is in Hoover, Alabama and has some news suggesting otherwise.

HOOVER, Ala. - According to Hoover head coach Rush Propst, defensive back Labrose Hedgemon's verbal commitment to North Carolina is in jeopardy.

"His commitment might not stand," Propst said. "He has considered changing his mind over the past few days, and this thing could be reopened. I'm not sure this is a firm commitment to North Carolina right now. I've seen some change in Labrose over the last couple of days."

Propst said Hedgemon was on the phone late last night with Colorado head coach Gary Barnett and that he is also speaking seriously with Notre Dame's Tyrone Willingham.

Hedgemon said he plans to visit South Bend this weekend. He's already visited Colorado.

Hedgemon did say that he did was not pressured by the UNC coaching staff to commit following his visit to Chapel Hill on Jan. 10.

It is not known if UNC coach John Bunting will drop by Hoover following a visit with Fred Sparkman in Columbia, Tenn., on Wednesday.

He had probably better if the Tar Heels hope to keep Hedgemon's commitment in tow.

"I'm committed to North Carolina at this point," Hedgemon said on Wednesday. "It's just that since I committed, other schools are coming in and trying to convince me that I'm not making the right decision."
