Fulton, a 6-foot, 175-pound cornerback from Manning (S.C.), says he's definitely interested in UNC.
"North Carolina is right there and they have a beautiful campus and they have great coaches," Fulton said.
However, UNC is on the outside looking in to Fulton's favorite schools list, which includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, and South Carolina.
"I've visited most of their campuses and loved it a lot," Fulton said of his top five. "Their coaches treat me real well and I could see myself playing for them."
Fulton has already scheduled official visits with Alabama (Oct. 17 versus South Carolina), Georgia (Sep. 12 versus South Carolina), and South Carolina (Nov. 14 versus Florida). He's working on scheduling an official to Florida for the weekend of Sep. 19 (vs. Tennessee) and LSU on Oct. 10 (vs. Florida).
Fulton admits there remains the chance of another school sneaking in and stealing an official trip.
"It's very likely [for UNC to get an official visit], because they're right there," Fulton said. "They're pretty close to my house. It depends on how hard they recruit me, I guess."
When his father returns from overseas in late November, Fulton plans to make a verbal commitment.
"I'm looking at who's recruiting me hard, atmosphere, fans, academics, depth chart, and if they have a chance to win," Fulton said.
Sam Pittman is recruiting Fulton for UNC. Fulton says he speaks to Pittman every other week.
"He's basically saying they know they got in there late, but they really want me in there," Fulton said.
Pittman also informed Fulton that he fits exactly what Everett Withers, UNC's defensive coordinator, is looking for in a cornerback.
"Basically, he said I have the ideal height and speed to get to the next level," Fulton said.
