Price Changing His Visit Date

Jabari Price is tentatively scheduled to officially visit North Carolina the weekend of November 14. However, he's currently in the process of moving that visit date up.

"I'm trying to get it rescheduled for an earlier date so that I can have a decision earlier," Price said. "I have to call Coach [Troy] Douglas to get it rescheduled."

Price, a 5-foot-11, 171-pound cornerback from Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely, has already taken official visits to Minnesota and Purdue.

After taking his UNC official visit – whenever it may be – Price says he'll be ready to make a verbal commitment.

"I don't want to get stuck and go somewhere where I don't really want to, because spaces filled up," Price said. "Right now, everyone is committing and reserving a spot.

"I know there are three spots left at UNC for DBs. So I don't want to get left out on something I really wanted."

Price's finalists are Minnesota, UNC, and Purdue. He doesn't claim a leader.

"With Minnesota and Purdue, those two schools have a lot of opportunity for me to come in and see early playing time as a freshman," Price said. "UNC is closer proximity to home, as well as a good program with Coach [Butch] Davis."

Playing time will have a major influence on Price's collegiate decision. He plans on discussing UNC's situation at defensive back during his official visit.

Price says he speaks with Douglas, his primary recruiter, once or twice a week.

"He talks to me about how I need to come to UNC and how they're taking four DBs," Price said. "He says their two dudes they have at the cornerback position will graduate after next year. I could red-shirt and after they leave it's wide open.

"They definitely have depth at corner, so that's going to be a con," he added.

Price, who missed his senior season opener with a groin injury, has recorded an interception, nine pass breakups, and nine tackles in three games this season for Ely.
