Hall commits to Va. Tech

<i>Inside Carolina</i> has confirmed that Vince Hall called the North Carolina coaching staff at noon today to inform them that he had chosen Virginia Tech over the Tar Heels.

Hall, from Chesapeake (Va.) Western Branch, also seriously considered Penn State, Tennessee and South Carolina.

The 6-1, 235-pound linebacker was named Virginia High School Football Player of the Year as a senior and earned district Defensive Player of the Year honors.

He finished the regular season with 121 tackles, nine sacks, three interceptions and three forced fumbles -- and had 16 tackles and caught four passes, including two for touchdowns, in the Eastern Region title game.

He is the No. 12 linebacker in the nation, according to TheInsiders.
