  • Sharif Floyd: "Sharif Floyd, a 6-foot-3, 311-pound lineman who has visited Florida and has an upcoming visit to Penn State scheduledthis weekend, dominated the line play and blocked a punt that resulted in a Donovan Morris touchdown." -- The Philadelphia Inquirer
  • Everett Golson: "Leading just 14-0 at the half, Myrtle Beach quarterback Everett Golson exploded for four of his five touchdown passes in the third quarter as the Seahawks shook off the pesky Sharks." He completed 10-of-16 passes for 253 yards and five touchdowns. -- The Sun News
  • Jazz King: "Sandwiched between the those big plays was a blocked punt by Byrnes' Jazz King that Torian Richardson returned 12 yards for a touchdown." -- Spartanburg Herald-Journal He also caught four passes for 57 yards, including a 45-yard touchdown. -- The Greenville News
  • Marcus Lattimore: "The Rebels started the scoring in the second half when Marcus Lattimore blocked a punt that was recovered by Richardson for his second score of the night with 7:28 left in the third quarter." -- Spartanburg Herald-Journal
    Lattimore "scored Byrnes' first touchdown on a 25-yard pass from Jones out of a trick formation that saw eight offensive players line up outside of the left hashmark, leaving Jones, Lattimore and Lee Weick alone on the short side of the field." -- The Greenville News
    He totaled 69 yards on 12 rushes and 45 yards on three catches.
  • Vad Lee: "Hillside put together a drive that included a 19-yard pass play from Vad Lee to Mike Brown and a 49-yard run by Jamal Williams that got to the Jordan 20. Three more runs by Williams got the ball to the 7, and on second-and-goal, Lee faked to Williams and ran around the right end for a touchdown." He accumulated 128 yards on 9-of-18 passing and 59 yards on seven rushes. -- The Herald-Sun

  • Kareem Martin: He accumulated eight tackles, two forced fumbles, and four QB hurries.

  • Demetrious Nicholson: He caught two passes for 33 yards. -- The Virginian-Pilot
  • Brian Riggins: "South Columbus scored the only touchdown of the fourth quarter on a 43-yard sprint by Brian Riggins with 3:26 left in the game. A passing attempt for a tying two-point conversion fell incomplete." -- The News Reporter
  • Christian Russell: "Christian Russell led the Wolverines in rushing with a game-high 117 yards on only eight carries." He scored on a 19-yard touchdown run. He also recorded a sack, an interception, and seven tackles -- Fayetteville Observer
  • T.J. Thorpe: "The Falcons shook off that mistake and held Hillside on successive possessions, then finally got a break when Thorpe intercepted Lee and returned it deep into the Hillside territory with under a minute left before halftime." He also caught eight passes for 114 yards and rushed twice for three yards. -- The Herald Sun
  • Reggie Wilkins: He passed for 56 yards and a pair of touchdowns and rushed for 93 yards. -- The Shelby Star
  • Marquise Williams: He ran for 173 yards and two touchdowns (41 and 1 yards) on 19 carries and completed 7-of-25 passes for 93 yards and two interceptions. "I had thrown some silly passes and was a little bit down," Williams told the Charlotte Observer. "But the coaches just told us to get it rolling.". -- Charlotte Observer
  • Justin Worley: "Worley led his team to three fourth-quarter touchdowns and the Trojans, who started the season 0-4, won 38-31 for their third victory in four games." He ended the game with 348 yards, four touchdowns (6, 20, 10, and 10) on 37-of-46 passing. He also scored on a one-yard run and accumulated 10 yards on 11 carries. -- Rock Hill Herald
