UNC typically aims to sign one quarterback with every recruiting class. However, after previewing the 2011 crop -- and discovering how many are favoring the Tar Heels -- the staff decided not to sign a quarterback with this class and sign two prospects with the next class.
Already, UNC has offered twice as many 2011 prospects as it did in 2010.
UNC is in great shape with 2011 targets Everett Golson (Myrtle Beach (S.C.)) and Justin Worley (Rock Hill (S.C.) Northwestern). Golson has already publicly labeled UNC his favorite, while Worley, whose parents are both UNC alumni, lists UNC among his favorite schools and has been a regular at Kenan Stadium for UNC home games.
Christian LeMay (Matthews (N.C.) Butler), Marquise Williams (Charlotte (N.C.)
Mallard Creek), and Max Wittek (Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei) are additional
2011 prospects with scholarship offers and have visited UNC.

In addition to former signee Jerrell Rhodes, who will enroll in January after spending the fall semester at Chatham (Va.) Hargrave Military Academy, UNC aims to sign one or two running backs.
From the get-go, Marcus Lattimore has been the No. 1 2010 target regardless of
position. To put it into perspective, Lattimore's weekly phone call from UNC
comes from Butch Davis.
Right behind Lattimore on the recruiting board are Corvin Lamb, Casey Turner, and Lucky Radley.
Depending on the scholarship situation, UNC could sign a fullback. If so, the staff will look at Aaron Jones, a 6-foot-1, 226-pounder from Greensboro (N.C.) Western Guilford. Jones has already admitted that he'd commit to UNC upon receiving an offer from the school.
UNC is already in pursuit of 2011 prospects Jeremiah Bryson (Smyrna
(Tenn.)), Shon Carson (Lake City (S.C.)), and Aaron Green (San Antonio (Texas)
Madison). All three have received UNC scholarship offers.
Targets With Offers
5'9" 191 lbs. 4.52 Miami (Fla.) Northwestern High School
Lamb recently named UNC his leader over Florida, LSU, Mississippi State, and Nebraska. He has received scholarship offers from all of his favorites, except Florida and LSU. He doesn't have any official visits yet, but he attempted to schedule an official visit to UNC in mid-November. He plans to wait until Signing Day to announce which school he'll sign with.
6'0" 210 lbs. 4.55 Duncan (S.C.) Byrnes High School
Lattimore, who has already officially visited Auburn and Penn State, has January official trips scheduled with Oregon (1/15), UNC (1/22), and Georgia (1/29). Although it won't receive an official visit, in-state South Carolina is very much a contender. Lattimore plans to announce his decision the day before Signing Day. Beginning last fall, he has made several unofficial visits to UNC.
5'9" 184 lbs. 4.50 Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft High School
Roughly a week after his UNC official visit -- which was his first and only -- Radley discussed the possibility of verbally committing with UNC. He'll likely take all five of his official visits before actually making a verbal commitment. South Carolina is the lone known future destination. UNC is the only school not recruiting Radley as a safety.
5'11" 190 lbs. 4.50 Jacksonville (Fla.) White High School
Turner made a soft verbal commitment to Florida International in late October. He still plans to take most, if not all, of his official visits. He has an official trip with Rutgers scheduled for the first weekend in December. In addition to the aforementioned schools and UNC, Turner has received offers from Arkansas, Illinois, and South Carolina.
