Opening remarks:
"Well, it was a game that I was extremely concerned about because I think Marshall has got a really nice team and I was afraid that we would be a little tight. I thought we were (tight) early in the game. I think any time around here when you lose a game, a lot of people tend to overreact, and particularly when it's very good teams. I overreact because I want us to play better, but it's not just about the outcome of the game. I think some of our kids went into the game a little tight and give Marshall credit too because they did some things that really bothered us.

"All of a sudden at the end of the half, we made a couple of nice plays. We actually had poor execution on the last play [of the half], but yet Will made the shot. That's sometimes the crazy thing about basketball. Larry's supposed to dribble off the screen really hard and go away and Ed's supposed to go away and screen, and basically we just stood there and threw the ball to Will and he made the shot. That is the crazy thing about basketball. But shots go in and everything looks a heck of a lot better.

"And then in the second half, we wanted to play even better than we did in the first half. We missed a couple of opportunities and they scored the first two or three possessions and then after that we went on a huge run. I thought Ed was really impressive. Ed got two baskets tonight running, which I think may be the first two that he's had in a year-and-a-half, running down the middle of the floor like some of our other big guys have. [Tyler Zeller] got some baskets running. Deon was one of the guys that I thought was tight… Our guys care what goes on and sometimes that makes it harder for them because they do care so much.

"Will Graves – I was disappointed in some things. I didn't start him. David [Wear] had done some nice things. David is one of those kids that I think makes you feel good about what's going to happen with his play, so I didn't start Will and yet Will was active – I think he had six rebounds at half – and was more involved, so I said, ‘Heck, let's play you in the second half and start you as well.' He made those two threes but I told him I wasn't as happy about that as I was about how alert he was on the defensive end of the floor…

"‘Z' gave us a big lift off the bench. Will gave us a big lift off the bench. Eddie was really good. So we got the ball rolling a little bit and things sort of snowballed on them."

On the UNC bigs running the floor:
"He's been preaching that it practice, talking about, ‘Don't just do it in practice, do it in games.' "We really tried to run the floor and get easy baskets. I got two easy buckets, Deon got one and Zeller got a couple, so it really paid off for us."

So you're not cutting your hair?
"No, I'm not cutting my hair until the season is over with… It's just something I wanted to do. It's out of boredom, so I switched it up. It gives people something to talk about. That's it."

On his approach coming off the bench:
"I was just trying to go out there and play hard and not think about anything. Starting or not starting, I've got a smile on my face."

What led to your benching? What part of your play was Coach Williams not happy with?
"Everything. Everything needed to step up. I guess it was probably at like 70 percent, so he wanted everything to go up to 100 percent and that's what I tried to do tonight."

On the importance of this win:
"This just starts the ball rolling again. It just gets us going back in the right direction. I think it came at a great time, to see glimpses of how good this team can be when we execute like we did."

On playing a legitimate opponent in Marshall:
"This is a team that you're not going to be able to come out and play a terrible game and still win. It's team that you're going to have to come out, you're going to have to execute and you're going to have to play hard and play tough."
