Willis Now Headed to UNC

Brandon Willis has confirmed to InsideCarolina.com that he is Chapel Hill-bound. The Duncan (S.C.) Byrnes defensive tackle switched his college destination Wednesday from Tennessee to North Carolina after learning of the coaching change in Knoxville the day before.

The U.S. Army All-American is the nation's No. 8-ranked defensive tackle according to Scout.com. His other finalists were UCLA and Miami.

In mid-September, Willis verbally committed to Tennessee, but continued to visit other schools. Just before leaving for San Antonio, he officially de-committed from the Volunteers.

Willis was unavailable for further comment as he was driving Wednesday morning to UNC to enroll for the spring semester and begin classes this week.

A UNC official confirmed Wednesday afternoon that Willis had arrived on campus and signed his scholarship letter to officially become a Tar Heel.
