Jessup to go medical hardship?

Inside Carolina has learned, according to sources close to the situation, that North Carolina defensive end Larry Jessup plans to receive a medical hardship scholarship.

Jessup missed the 2001 season because of a shoulder injury, and according to Inside Carolina sources, Jessup continues to have instablity in his right shoulder. The ongoing shoulder problems appear to have prematurely ended his football career.

Jessup, a native of Miami, Florida, would continue on scholarship at North Carolina but no longer participate in football if the medical hardship is granted.
