With the Junior Day events revolving around UNC's spring practice that afternoon, Owens was able to accomplish his objectives.
"I liked their style of coaching," Owens said. "I liked how they get on their players, tell them what to do, [and] tell them what's right."
Outside of practice, Owens' visit included watching film with the team and speaking with several players.
Throughout his stay, Owens spent a great deal of time with Allen Mogridge, UNC's tight ends coach.
"He was just talking about how they could use me in their offense," Owens said.
Owens, who is looking to make a summer-time verbal commitment, still doesn't claim a leader. However, Saturday's visit solidified UNC's position in his favorites list.
"It definitely helps keep Carolina up there in my top [four schools]," Owens said.
Clemson, NC State, and South Carolina, as well as UNC make up Owens' leaderboard.
Owens has collected approximately 15 scholarship offers, with Louisville and Wisconsin being the latest.
Besides Saturday's visit to UNC, Owens has visited Clemson, NC State, and South Carolina this spring. He plans to return to South Carolina on Thursday and then travel to Clemson on April 10.
