Elite LB Visits UNC

Curtis Grant made his first visit to North Carolina on Saturday when he attended the Tar Heels' Junior Day.

"My biggest thing is getting a good relationship with the head coach," Grant said. "I was able to start to build a relationship with Coach [Butch] Davis Saturday."

During the Junior Day, Grant received his first chance to speak to Davis one-on-one. The two spoke in Davis' office for roughly 15-20 minutes.

"We were basically trying to get to know each other," Grant said. "He told me stories about his recruiting life. He asked me a few questions."

Grant's visit also included a tour of the football facilities and the chance to watch UNC's spring practice.

"Practice was real intense when it came time to hit," Grant said.

In addition to Davis, Grant says he has begun to build strong relationships with Mike London and Jeff Hanson from Virginia, Sal Sunseri and Kirby Smart from Alabama, and Urban Meyer from Florida.

Grant, who has collected over 20 scholarship offers including all the aforementioned schools, isn't favoring any schools. However, he plans to narrow his list of options down to ten schools by the beginning of the football season.

Grant said he will announce his collegiate destination on Signing Day.

Besides UNC, Grant has visited Duke, Maryland, Virginia, and Virginia Tech. He plans to visit Clemson and Florida next week.
