Four Heels Named Preseason All-America

CLEVELAND, Ohio --- North Carolina defensive standouts Marvin Austin, Bruce Carter and Robert Quinn were named to the annual Phil Steele Preseason All-American First Team, the publication announced Wednesday.

In addition, Quan Sturdivant was named to the second team and a total of 16 Tar Heels were named to the four preseason All-ACC teams.

Joining Austin, Carter, Quinn and Sturdivant on the first team All-ACC squad are Greg Little and Deunta Williams. Kendric Burney, Alan Pelc and Zach Pianalto were named to the second team, while Casey Barth, Jheranie Boyd, Charles Brown and Tydreke Powell were third-team selections. Da'Norris Searcy, Quinton Coples and Kevin Reddick round out the honorees as fourth-team picks.
