The latter half of UNC's two-day camp was going on during Otis' visit. However, the 6-3, 200-pound Gastonia (N.C.) Ashbrook standout elected not to work out. He did, though, receive a coaching session with Art Kaufman, UNC's linebackers coach.
"Coach Kaufman drew some stuff on the board for me and we went over some stuff," Otis said. "[He went over] the different types of defense and where I fit in."
Before ending their stay, Otis and his family met with Butch Davis in his office.
"He was just asking us questions like what did we think about the campus," Otis said. "And he told us a little bit about the campus and a little bit about the system."
Besides UNC, Otis, who doesn't claim any favorite schools, has visited Duke, Florida, Georgia Tech, NC State, and South Carolina.
This weekend Otis is scheduled to revisit Duke. He's also working on a return trip to Florida.
Some time in September, Otis said he would like to narrow his focus to at least five schools. From there, he'll begin to take official visits.
Otis revealed that things look "really good" for UNC to make the cut.
"I like [UNC]," Otis said. "I think I could fit in there."
