Coming to camp is a crucial part of the North Dakota State staff's evaluation of high school recruits and one in-state recruit who excelled last month at the Bison's camp was Dickinson (N.D.) defensive end Zach Kubas. The BisonReport caught up with Kubas to hear more.

"I've have offers from the University of Mary and Moorhead State right now," Kubas said. "I've also heard from Concordia college, Concordia-St.Paul, Augustana, North Dakota and NDSU. I've been to the individual camp at NDSU and a team camp we had in town, but I'm playing on going to the University of Mary camp soon."

Kubas walked away from the NDSU camp with an elite camper award.

"The NDSU camp was great as I got to complete against some great competition," Kubas told the BisonReport. "I received an elite camper award and go to work with some great coaches from around the region. I spoke with Jamar Cain, Nick Goeser and my main recruiter Randy Hedberg from NDSU. I also talked to some coaches from Mary and Moorhead too. The Bison really liked my size and strength and my ability to brawl with the bigger guys at camp. They thought I did a really nice job of competing throughout the weekend. There wasn't any talk of an offer as they just said they'd be keeping in touch with me."

An NDSU offer would end the Dickinson defensive end's recruitment very quick.

"An NDSU offer would be huge for me as both my dad and grandfather played there," Kubas explained. "My dad played defensive line there from 1990-1994 and my grandpa played for a year back in the 50's and was a running back. A large majority of my family has attended NDSU or are big fans of the athletic programs there. If they do offer, I will more than likely commit as I've been a huge fan of NDSU football all my life and it would be a dream come true to play football for the Bison."
