Texas quarterback Hank Hughes took an extended unofficial visit to North Dakota State over the weekend and the BisonReport caught up with one of the Bison's top QB targets.

"It was a good overall visit," Hughes said to the BisonReport. "On Friday, I got to meet a lot of the coaches and Coach Hedberg gave me a tour of campus and the Fargodome. I camped on Saturday and then stayed in Fargo Sunday with a families friend, and then left this morning after meeting with the coaches one more time. It was a very good visit overall."

Hughes had a blast at the NDSU camp.

"The camp went well," Hughes explained. "My 40 was what I was hoping for, I didn't have my best day in the passing portion, but I felt I did okay. It was good to work with the coaches and they have a great staff. They obviously know a lot about football, especially Coach Hedberg. He's a great coach and I loved his coaching style. He's not a screamer and he said it perfectly when he told me that there is enough chaos on the field, that I don't need more from him what I come off it."

The Texas quarterback had one final visit this morning before taking off.

"They showed me around the weight room and I got to see some of the players as well," Hughes told the BisonReport. "They're renting out a space right now while their original weight room facilities are being remodeled, but it was still cool to see. I met with coach Klieman early in the trip and we just talked about the University and obviously football. They were excited to have me up there."

Hughes is going to take a few weeks before a potential decision.

"I'm feeling good about NDSU, but I'm taking it slow for right now," Hughes said. "It's a big decision and they are the first school I have visited that has offered, so I don't want to rush into anything. NDSU is definitely one of my top schools though because who wouldn't want to play for a national championship. The city of Fargo was great and I got to see a lot of the sights and was able to fish some too. I'm going to UTSA tomorrow and I'm also going to try and visit William and Mary, plus maybe Eastern Washington, Northern Arizona and Montana State. I'm looking to make a decision probably before the season to negate any distractions."
