"Ross Kennelly is an incredible football player. He is a throwback type that can do it all. He is tough, physical, fast, he has great instincts, great hands, feet, he's coachable, he's a leader and his football IQ is amazing. He is the most complete football player I've coached."
Whether it's on or off the field, Kennelly has always succeeded.
"Off the field Ross is a leader in everything he does," DeMeyer said. "He is the first one to offer assistance to someone, in the classroom, weight room, outside of school; he's a very high character, compassionate young man. He also has a great sense of humor, he's very bright, can hold a conversation with anyone on any topic. He's really a fun person to have around."
DeMeyer was very involved in the recruiting process with the Bison coaches.
"I was as involved as I could have been in the recruiting process, hopefully providing the appropriate amount of guidance and assistance necessary," DeMeyer explained to the BisonReport. "The NDSU coaching staff is top notch in every way - first class guys who know what it takes to be successful and they care about their athletes as people. Ross, his parents and myself couldn't say enough about how the great the staff has been through the whole process and how we all truly feel this is a great fit - he is in the best place possible, for his football aspirations, academically and personally."
DeMeyer believes that Kennelly really doesn't have a weakness.
"His strengths are everything I mentioned previously and he really doesn't have a weakness - other than maybe his size," DeMeyer told the BisonReport. "As I stated to Coach Goeser, Ross Kennelly will help the Bison from the moment he steps on campus and eventually he'll be the captain of the team and a leader in the community. His work ethic is second to none. He is a returning captain (first time we've ever had a junior captain was last year), tailback, linebacker, long-snapper, etc. Bison fans can expect to see a young man that will pour everything he has into helping his team succeed. He will be incredibly loyal to his team, his school and community, doing whatever he can to help make a difference!"
