"I was able to view the facilities, talk with a few players and get to know the coaches at NDSU a lot better," Hopkins corner Malik Lofton explained to the BisonReport about his North Dakota State visit. "I like the facilities there at NDSU as I was able to see the meeting room, the weight room and they're building a new locker room too, so it's all good there. The players there were telling me that it's a great program to be under, that I would fit in perfectly and that they produce athletes into the NFL too."
Lofton also had a long talk with the Bison's defensive coordinator and head coach.
"I talked the most with probably Coach Entz," Lofton said. "He told me that I can be one of the great defensive backs in NDSU history and that I will look great in green and yellow. Coach Klieman kind of told me the same kind of stuff. He's the one that offered me at corner and they told me that they think I'm the next Marcus Williams for them. I think that it's great to be compared to him, but I want to make my own mark and leave my own legacy."
NDSU could be the right fit for the Hopkins cornerback.
"I have good interest in NDSU now," Lofton told the BisonReport. "They've shown me a lot of love and it's not too far from home. It's somewhere where I feel like I can start right away too. I also picked up an offer from South Dakota that same day, and I haven't been to campus or really met the coaches, so it's tough to say what my interest is in them right now. I'll be heading to Minnesota on Saturday for their spring practice, and then I'll be heading to the Nike camp in Chicago in May. I plan on camping at Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State and Maryland."
