"We got to watch practice, go take a look at some gear and try on the jerseys, take a campus tour, eat lunch with the coaches, hear the coaches speak and also get a facilities tour," Iowa defensive back John Mahoney said to the BisonReport. "I thought the pace and intensity of the practice was awesome. I also was a big fan of the campus as I liked it a lot and the facilities were great. They had a very big-time feel to them."
Mahoney also spent some time with the Bison coaches.
"Coach Roehl is my area coach and Coach Klanderman is my positional coach, so I've had the most contact with them," Mahoney explained to the BisonReport. "Coach Roehl just said that he was glad to have me up and that he would be by my school this spring. Coach Klanderman talked about my high school team, my grades and stuff and he said that he liked my film and that I could project to either SS or OLB. There wasn't really any talk of an offer, but I'll for sure be camping with NDSU this summer. I will have to see how the schedule works out, but I would love to make it up."
Mahoney wants the opportunity to earn an offer from North Dakota State.
"It would be an incredible honor to receive an offer from the Bison. NDSU is a fantastic program with an unrivaled reputation and I would be very honored. I'm definitely quite interested in them right now and it's early in the process, but they have a fantastic program. As far as other visits upcoming, Drake invited me out to their junior day later this month, but I'm super busy with track these next couple months too."
