2017 Texas quarterback Peyton Mansell will visit NDSU this weekend and he holds a Bison offer

2017 Texas quarterback Peyton Mansell will visit NDSU this weekend and he holds a Bison offer. Mansell spoke with the BisonReport about his NDSU offer and upcoming visit to Fargo.

"I have offers from NDSU, Coastal Carolina, Cornell, Columbia, San Diego State and Harvard," Belton (Texas) quarterback Peyton Mansell explained to the BisonReport. "Things are going well and I'm excited to see what happens here during the spring evaluation period."

The Bison were Mansell's first division one offer.

"NDSU offered back in early March and their head coach, Chris Klieman is the one that offered," Mansell said to the BisonReport. "He loved the way I played, and how I carried myself in the classroom and he wanted to offer as he just wanted to get on me early. I know a good amount actually about North Dakota State as I've been doing my research on the school, and I've been watching some of last years games on YouTube. My reasech has been showing that NDSU is a great academic institution and it has my major (engineering). Coupled with the fact that they are playing top level football is awesome."

The Texas quarterback has a few different connections to North Dakota State.

"My mother's family is actually from Duluth (Minn.) and my grandma went to graduate school at NDSU," Mansell told the BisonReport. "I'll be visiting NDSU this weekend for their spring game and I'll be getting in on Friday night. My mother is coming with on the visit and we're looking forward to seeing the atmosphere on campus and at the game, seeing the facilities and also seeing how the offense for the Bison is in person. I've never been to NDSU, so I'm looking forward to see what it's about."

Mansell also has a few other visits he's hoping to take soon.

"I was just at North Texas here recently and I do plan on taking a trip to San Diego State and Coastal Carolina here soon. I don't have set dates for those yet though. As far as a list of schools standing out, I haven't been to any of the schools that have offered me, so not yet."
