"Coach Klieman gave me a call and we talked for around 10 minutes just about how everything was going with my family and at NDSU, and after that, he let me know that they were going to offer me a full-ride scholarship," Millard North (Neb.) outside linebacker Jack Begley said to the BisonReport. "Klieman said that the defensive staff was evaluating prospects last week and they saw me as one of their top outside linebacker prospects, and so they wanted to offer me."
Begley is well-aware of the connection between his high school and North Dakota State.
"It is a very unique opportunity to have the chance to play for the five-time defending national champs and to follow in Nick Deluca's footsteps as a linebacker from Millard North going to NDSU," Begley explained to Scout.com. "NDSU is currently toward the top of my list. The past success of the football program at NDSU is a big plus, obviously. I am beginning to establish a good relationship with the coaching staff as well. I will try to make up to campus sometime this summer to continue to get a feel for how things run up there and also to see the new weight room."
Many college camps on the agenda for Begley this summer.
"I have camps at Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska and Notre Dame for sure and I haven't finalized any other visits yet. I don't know when I'll make a decision and I haven't really narrowed things down yet, but I know NDSU is a real contender for me."
