"North Dakota State offered me at tight end," Barrington (Ill.) tight end Josh Babicz said to the BisonReport. "That's the position most of these schools are offering me at. North Dakota State's head coach, Chris Klieman is the Bison coach who offered me and he just said that he's excited about me and that I can play a big role for them. I don't really recall if he told me why they wanted to offer, as the whole conversation is kind of a blur right now. I've been talking with a lot of the coaches in the past few days so my mind is scrambled right now from all the attention. All that being said, I'm thrilled to have received an offer from NDSU as they have a very good football program."
There is a connection from Barrington to Fargo as well.
"I've been following Ben Lecompte since he graduated Barrington and this last year, it's been exciting to watch Wentz make it so high in the draft from an FCS school," Babicz explained to Scout.com. "I also know that NDSU has been on the top of their conference for many years. The way they dominate the FCS and develop NFL talent, it would make it hard to not be at the top of the list. My parents are talking to the Bison coaches on scheduling a time that we can come out. Probably end of June beginning of July for a visit."
Other camps and visits are on the schedule for Babicz this summer.
"I have scheduled an Illinois State visit on the 1st of June, and I'm doing an Illinois camp at my high school and the Northwestern showcase as well," Babicz told the BisonReport. "I'm not sure what other camps or visits I'll go on yet as I'm working on a schedule. I am so overwhelmed with everything that is happening and I'm trying to figure out what will be the best fit for me athletically and academically. I'm talking with my coaches and my parents, but grateful for the opportunity NDSU has given me."
