"Spencer is a very good football player," Watertown (S.D.) head coach John Hodorff said to the BisonReport about NDSU DE commit Spencer Waege. "He has a great understanding of the game and knows how to use his body and hands to help him get into good situations. He is also a good person he will be successful on the field and in the classroom and in life no matter what he decides to to. I was only as involved as Spencer wanted me to be with the recruiting process. This is a very big decision for him and he has to be comfortable with the school he is going, to the guys he will play with, and the coaches he will play for. I'm happy for Spencer no matter what school he is playing for."
"Spencer is a big athletic guy who really enjoys the game of football," Hordorff explained to Scout.com. "He will give you everything he has and has a great nose for the football. At the next level, Spencer will develop more athleticism, he will get bigger and his technique will improve. Spencer is a farm kid who understands the value of working hard, and this is an area where Spencer will excel. Spencer's roll this season is to simply do his job to the best of his ability each and every play, and to lead by example in everything he does.:
Hodorff thinks Bison fans can expect to a great overall person in Waege.
"Bison fans can expect a player who will give everything he has in the class room on the field and in life."
