"I decided to commit to North Dakota State today because it felt right," 2017 Farmington (Minn.) defensive end Tanner Sundt said to the BisonReport. "Since the last time I visited, I was thinking about it deeply and knew today was the day. I actually came to the decision late last night, as I talked with my parents for a while yesterday and talked with my head football coach this morning about my decision and both were fully supporting me in my choice. I then called coach Entz and talked to Cain and then called head coach later in the day. Entz said that they were happy they got me and that I was their top pick. Cain said basically the same thing and that he can't wait to coach me and I have the potential to take it to the next level. He said if I keep working hard it'll pay off. Klieman told me how happy he his about me and he can't wait to see me put on the Bison jersey!
"Some of the biggest reasons I decided to commit were that the NDSU fans backing you up. You can't find that anywhere else. I want to play at the next level and NDSU is proven to produce that. The staff has told me that they want me to be a pass rushing defensive end that comes off the outside and I'm all for that. All of the current NDSU commits have contacted me and just said congrats, so that's pretty cool."
The door will remain open for a bigger school even with Sundt's Bison commitment.
"The recruiting process is basically closed for me now, unless it's a power-five conference school. I don't have any other visits or camps planned, and I want NDSU fans to know that I'm here to bring home some national championships!"
