"I called Nick Goeser on Thursday because we have conversations at least once a week to build a relationship so I called him and the head coach wanted to speak to me and asked me how I was and then gave me the offer," Wisconsin athlete DJ Stewart said to Scout.com. "He saw my film and said that I was a player he saw could fit at any position ranging from running back or a slot receiver to even a defensive back. They always called me "their guy" or "the guy" they wanted and was looking for. They said they talked about me once a day, so they finally offered. I came home that day and told my mom was going to college for free and that NDSU gave me a full ride and my mom almost passed out. She was jumping around and gave a huge hug. There's no dad in the picture, but my little sister and little brother were happy for me also."
"I know they are a very respected football program and they know how to win," Stewart explained. "Academics I'm not really sure about, but I'm sure I'll learn. My family wants to try and get up there next week on the 3rd of April, but I just have to call coach Goeser to confirm it. Ever since I heard about NDSU, I've always been pretty interested just because of how nice the coaches are and how successful they are. My head coach has nothing but good things to say about them and I trust his word 100%. I plan on making a commitment somewhere the summer leading into my senior year. I'm not sure exactly when though."
