Holy Cross Cornerback Ki-Jana Curtis and teammate receiver Kevin Spears have both flown under the radar in the New Orleans area after outstanding senior seasons. For Curtis, several offers have come, changes in several college staffs have left him looking for a few more options in January.
"I have offers from Northern Colorado and Southern right now," Curtis stated. "Southern Miss and North Texas were on me earlier this year, but with the coaching changes, I haven't heard back from them. I've set one visit up to Southern on January 11th, but I haven't set any visit for Northern Colorado."
Ki-Jana Curtis was named to the All-District 10-4A team in December, All-Metro and selected to play in the Jefferson/ Orleans All-Star high school game in February. The senior athlete would like to pick up a few more visits from state schools and Southern Miss.
"I would like to visit Louisiana Tech, ULL and Southern Miss," stated Ki-Jana. "With the coaching changes at Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss, I don't know if they will offer me a visit. I know Coach Jaluke, so I hope to get to talk to him soon. I'm waiting to hear something back from McNeese after the Dead Period and I wouldn't mind visiting ULL with Kevin Spears if he goes in January.
With a month left before National Signing Day, Curtis hopes to get at least two more visits scheduled.
"I'm confident in my ability and feel I can play ball at the FBS level," Curtis said. "I know I can play at any of those schools, but I certainly won't turn down the opportunity to visit Southern or any other school. I just want the opportunity to show them I can play. I have the ACT score and I'm eligible, so have that now."
