Garrett Talks Badgers

2014 Plainfield South (Ill.) linebacker Clifton Garrett took a visit to Wisconsin and talks about his visit, general recruiting and more inside.

Early four star 2014 linebacker Clifton Garrett made plenty of noise on the field his junior season, and now he is turning his attention to recruiting.

"As for the games I have been too this season," Garrett said. "I started off at the Notre Dame/Michigan game, then went to Michigan State, Illinois, then Wisconsin."

He continued, "And I will be going to Ohio State vs. Michigan this next weekend."

Garrett's most recent visit was to Wisconsin, where he got the full tour of Madison.

"I had a good time, I loved it," Garrett said of his visit. "It was just my dad and I and we got there about an hour early so we just walked around a little bit."

"We went to the fan stuff for a little bit, and we met the coaches," Garrett said. "As soon as we got there we met Coach Bielema and then saw the locker rooms, they are really nice."

He added thoughtfully, "They are pretty amazing."

The strength programs left a very positive impression on Garrett, who enjoyed the presentation he attended.

"The strength and conditioning coach gave a presentation about the weight room and how it is different from other programs," Garrett said. "Because he designed everything in the weight room. He has all the measurements and really knows what he is talking about."

After meeting with the staff, Garrett headed out to field to check out the Badgers linebackers.

"I watched the linebackers on the game field, they are quick and can move," Garrett said. "I was pretty impressed. Plus, the atmosphere was ridiculous. I was sitting in between a set of Ohio State and Wisconsin fans, they were so into the game."

And of course, Garrett reflected on ‘Jump Around.'

"The jump around was pretty crazy, I loved it," Garrett said. "I have never seen anything like it."

A lot of that was thanks to the student section.

"I really had a good time just being around the game day atmosphere," Garrett said. "The fans and the student section were die hard."

He continued, "It was the best student section that I have seen all year, which is pretty impressive."

Garrett, who has an offer from Wisconsin, also had some time to chat with the coaches about their interest in him.

"The first thing the coaches said to me, their first reaction was 'Wow you look good," Garrett said. "When I was talking to the linebackers coach, he told me I looked really good and ready to go, he want's me on their campus."

Garrett has had a busy couple of weeks since his junior season concluded, and his recruiting has been no different.

"I haven't gotten any new offers but I think I am getting close to getting a few more," Garrett said. "I have talked to Vanderbilt and Alabama said they are finishing up 2013 then moving to 2014.

He added, "Plus I have been talking to Arizona State. LSU, Florida, FSU, Nebraska, and Auburn and several others quite a bit."
