Cornerback Ware Decides to Stay Close to Home

Plainfield North cornerback Dominique Ware received a variety of college interest, but in the end decided to stay close to home. Learn more about the 5-11, 175 lb. corner in this report.

Dominique Ware verbally committed to Northern Illinois football coach Jerry Kill to become the Huskies' third commitment of the class of 2009.

"I wanted to stay close to home," said Ware. "I really got to know the coaching staff and some of the players that I'll be playing with. With the seniors they have leaving, they see me fitting in."

Dominique chose NIU over interest from Ball State, Bowling Green, Colorado State, Georgetown, Western Michigan, and Wyoming.

Ware plays both wide receiver and cornerback for the White Tigers and is looking forward to the upcoming season. "We went 3-6 last year, but this year I can see us going 6-3," Ware remarked.

Dominique also runs for the Plainfield North track team.

Ware joins quarterbacks A.J. Hill and Jordan Lynch in the class of 2009 for the Huskies.
