NIU's Anderson Withdraws from NBA Draft

DEKALB, Ill. - Northern Illinois sophomore guard Darion "Jake" Anderson has decided to withdraw from the 2009 NBA Draft. Anderson will return for his junior season with the Huskies, HuskiePride.com has learned.

Darion Anderson averaged a team-leading 16.9 points to go along with 5.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game last season, and was named to the All-Mid-American Conference second-team. He was named the MAC Freshman of the Year at the conclusion of the 2007-08 season.

Jake withdrew from the draft just hours before the 5 p.m. NBA deadline on June 15th. He did not hire an agent and did not work out for any NBA teams, thus keeping his college elibility intact.
