QB Will Camp In Evanston

This fine quarterback will be a three-year varsity starter in 2003. Northwestern is on his list of early favorites.

Travis Hewitt, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound, quarterback from Kirkwood (Mo.) Vianney will be a prospect to watch in 2003.

Hewitt will be a three-year varsity starter. He threw for 1,300 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior.

"I don't have any scholarship offers yet," Hewitt said. "UCLA, Notre Dame, Illinois, Northwestern and Indiana all send the most hand-written mail.

"My favorites right now would be UCLA, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Illinois, Purdue, LSU and Stanford.

"I'm going to camp at Illinois and Northwestern this summer. I might go to Purdue and Notre Dame also."

Hewitt has been to a junior day at Illinois and was invited by Northwestern, Missouri and Arkansas for unofficial visits.

Hewitt also letters in baseball.
