Ohio Cornerback Bogard Waiting for Offers

With more than a year until signing day, things are beginning to take shape for Cleveland cornerback De'van Bogard (Glenville HS). On Saturday, Bogard will do an official visit at one of his top schools.

Devan Bogard (6-1, 175-lb) is set to visit Ohio State, which is one of his top choices. Bogard said the Buckeye coaches are the only coaches he speaks to regularly, and getting an offer from them would be very exciting for De'van, who has been attending Buckeye games for years.

"I'd be very excited if I got an offer from there, and it would be a good choice to go to Ohio State," Bogard said.

Bogard does not have any scholarship offers yet, but has his list of schools laid out. Along with Ohio State Bogard is interested in California, Florida, Iowa, and Northwestern.

Bogard said he would categorize his interest in Northwestern as "medium to high", adding that academics are his top priority.

"It's a great academic school. I love Northwestern. They send me a lot of mail about their school and how it is."

Bogard has not visited Northwestern, but knows a lot about the school. With academics as his top priority, Bogard is very impressed with NU.

"I do know that it's a good school for one. Academics are high, and they graduate at least 90%, and I do want to go to school to graduate. Football will get me there. My coach talks about them all the time."

There is still plenty of time left for De'van. He has not made a schedule for trips, and does not have a list of top schools. For now, Bogard is playing the waiting game.

"I really don't have my plans laid out," Bogard added. "I'm waiting to see who offers me."
