When Jim Harbaugh left Stanford for the 49ers, McDonough (GA) safety Ra'Chard Pippens (Ola High School admitted to being "open-minded" of other schools. But Pippens visited with the Stanford coaches, and came to the decision that he will stay committed to Stanford.
The three-star safety was admitted to Stanford
on Wednesday, and did an official visit at Stanford on Thursday. Pippens (6-1, 181-lb) met with new Stanford head coach David Shaw, and heard what he was hoping to hear.
On Wednesday, Pippens told PurpleWildcats.com that he wanted to hear of the changes in the Stanford program, and he would make up his mind after that.
"I met with the new head coach and had many questions answered, so I am confident in my decision," Pippens said on Monday.
Pippens had offers from Northwestern, Auburn, Maryland, South Carolina, and Wake Forest.
Pippens registers a 4.4 40-yard dash, and has a 4.2 GPA.
