Daly Receives First Offer

Northwestern has made a scholarship offer to Downers Grove (Ill) long snapper Scott Daly, likely the top long snapper in the 2012 class.

Scott Daly (6-3, 230-lb) just finished off a successful junior season, helping his team to the playoffs. In the midst of his offseason training program, Daly was excited to get the scholarship offer.

"It feels amazing to get offered so early," Daly said. "It's a really great a big offer, especially from a great university like Northwestern."

Northwestern is the first school to offer Daly. Also high on his list is Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Michigan State.

Downers Grove is less than an hour from Evanston, so Daly is very familiar with Northwestern. Daly has been to numerous Northwestern games.

Though he is still in the beginning stages of his recruitment, Daly already knows his priorities for finding the right school

"My top priorities are first, academics, and second, athletics, how good their football team is," Daly said. "Location is another factor." Though Daly is excited to get an early offer, he admitted there is in no rush to make a decision.

"It's something I'm going to take my time with," Daly said of his decision. "The schools I listed off are all great schools. I want to see how it all plays out."

During the offseason, Daly participates in a weight lifting program and a speed program, while practicing long snapping every day with long snapping coach Chris Rubio at the Rubio Long Snapping camp.
