With over a year left until he officially signs with a school, Voltz is considering all of his options.
"Right now I'm pretty much wide open," he said. "I've been trying to get out to all the schools that I can."
Voltz is still working on setting up visits.
"I'm planning on visiting Michigan State sometime soon," he said, and I'm hoping to get up to Notre Dame for their junior day."
While Voltz insists that he isn't choosing favorites, he spoke highly of Northwestern and his experience with coach Pat Fitzgerald.
"I've been to Northwestern about six times over the past year because they offered me last summer during June," he said. "Coach Fitz and the coaching staff, they're a lot of good people."
Voltz also liked academic excellence at Northwestern, as well as playing for a program near his hometown of Barrington, Illinois.
"Obviously [NU] has great academics, it's close to home, and it's Big Ten football," he said.
