Wisconsin RB Jackson to Visit NU

With more than a year to make his decision, three-star running back Vonte Jackson (Kenosha, WI) is in no rush to make his decision. For now, Jackson is exploring his options. The running back has made two official visits, and will make his third visit this weekend to Northwestern.

Vonte Jackson (6-1, 205-lbs.) currently has offers from Northwestern, Iowa, and Wisconsin, and has done an official visit to Iowa and Wisconsin. Jackson is now excited to see what the Wildcats have to offer.

"Wisconsin and Iowa have great programs, hopefully Northwestern will show the same thing," said Jackson.

Northwestern's biggest draws with Jackson is their exciting spread offense and great academic prestige, which he expressed strong interest in.

"They run the spread offense, they're really good with academics, which are a good thing to fall back on," Jackson said.

Still a junior in high school with more than a year to make a decision, Jackson admits he has no favorites on his list just yet.

"They all have pretty high interest and I have pretty high interest in all of them," Jackson said. "I've visited all of them except for northwestern, which I'm visiting this weekend. I'd like to get to know all of them so I can make a decision."

Jackson only has three offers, but has a long list of interested schools. That list includes Cincinnati, Illinois, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Purdue and Vanderbilt.

With a strong possibility that Jackson receives more offers down the road, he is in no rush to make a commitment.

"I'm going to take it slow and try to find the right school," Jackson said. "I still have pretty much a whole year for me to decide, so I'm going to take my time, and get everything I can out of the schools."
