Offers Piling Up for Darlington

PurpleWildcats.com caught up with Apopka High (FL) star lineman Ty Darlington and he filled us in on his latest developments.

This offseason the standout lineman has stayed busy in the gym, focusing on adding some more weight to his frame while also improving on his explosiveness. Ty hopes all the hard work he's putting in now will pay dividends next fall.

"Since I've been a freshman, my main priority has been to win the state championships," Darlington said. "I want to be dominant (this season)."

The star junior has been on many school's radars for a few seasons, but he's continuing to generate more interest this offseason. Auburn, Georgia, , North Carolina, and Northwestern all made recent stops to his high school. His most recent offer came from Washington State.

However, Darlington mentioned he hasn't set a list of favorites, but schools such as Auburn and Florida State are pretty high on his list.

"I honestly probably would love to go to a school that's a winner," Darlington said. "I've always played on pretty successful teams. I would prefer to go to a school that's already established."

When asked if the star lineman could see himself in Evanston, wearing purple and white.

"I definitely think I could," Darlington said. "(Northwestern) is a good football program and a good academic institution."

"They have some interest from me because of academics. I'm in the top of my class and I want to go somewhere with academic opportunities. Northwestern sets itself apart because they have some great academic opportunities."
