Mahone's Recruitment Beginning To Pick Up

Running back William Mahone has been receiving interest from schools across the country for awhile, but his recruitment has just started to pick up, having picked up two offers in the past two days.

"I was just offered by Michigan State yesterday and I received an offer from Boston College the day before that," he said. "I have offers from Cincinnati, Bowling Green, and Miami (Ohio) too."

In addition to those five schools, Mahone (Youngstown, Ohio) is interested in Northwestern, Penn State, Texas A&M, Oregon, and USC. So far, he isn't playing favorites.

"I have a lot of respect for Cincinnati because they were my first offer, but there's not real favorite," he said. "I want to make sure I take all my official visits and make the right choice."

Mahone was just invited to Michigan State's junior day and will be attending a basketball game at Cincinnati. He has already been to both schools, attending a camp at Michigan State and Cincinnati's 2010 spring game. He has been to Cincinnati two or three times.

While Mahone hasn't heard much from Northwestern, he likes the system that they run and is definitely interested in learning more about the school.

"I like their offense," he said. "I watched the Iowa-Northwestern game last year and I like their offense and everything. I don't know a whole lot about them, but I know it's a good program."

With plenty of time left to make his choice, Mahone is ensuring that he doesn't rush his recruitment.

"I'm just seeing which schools are interested and I'll go from there," he said.
