'Cats Cold As Gophers Own Halftime Lead

On Senior Night at Northwestern, the Minnesota Golden Gophers enter the locker room with a 31-25 lead.

Halftime:

Minnesota: 31

Northwestern: 25

Minnesota finished the half shooting 50%, with seven players registering points. Northwestern shot just 31% in the first half, including 3-15 from beyond the arc. Davide Curletti led all scorers with seven points. Senior point guard Michael Thompson is shooting 1-9 from the field, while junior forward John Shurna is 2-6 with just five points.

Northwestern struck first with a three-pointer from John Shurna, which looked to setup a promising game. However, Minnesota responded with a 10-2 run in the next five minutes. Midway through the half, Northwestern took a one-point lead on an Alex Marcotullio three-pointer, but that would be their last lead of the first half.

Senior Mike Capocci was in the starting lineup for the second-consecutive game in place of Jershon Cobb. Cobb remains out with a hip injury, suffered in practice last week.
