Bolden Reviewing His Options

Cincinnati linebacker Joe Bolden has been picking up a lot of interest around the country, picking up 14 offers so far in his recruiting process.

The junior from Colerain High School is making sure to review all of his options carefully before he makes a decision.

"I'm wide open to anyone and everyone who offers me," he said.

Bolden's search continued today, as he participated in Cincinnati's junior day. He also plans to make a number of visits in the near future. That includes a probable visit to Evanston.

"Over the past three weekends, I have been to at least one college, and over spring break, I'll look at more," he said. "I plant to make a visit [to Northwestern] sometime soon, probably for a spring practice or the spring game."

Bolden hasn't talked to the Northwestern coaches much lately, but plans to call linebackers coach Randy Bates on Monday or Tuesday.

However, Bolden is still excited about NU and is eager to learn more about the school.

"It's a great academic school, and Coach Fitz has the program on the rise in the Big Ten," he said. "It's in a great city as well. Jobs are probably coming out of Northwestern. You probably can get a job in Chicago or anywhere else in the country."

Although he has a good initial impression of Northwestern, Bolden has not picked out a favorite school and doesn't plan to make a college choice for a while.

"I'm not putting myself on a timeline to make that decision," he said.
