"It was good. I liked it," he said. "I liked the way practice ran real quick and easy. They get in, get work in, and leave."
The coaches also impressed Lugo, especially with their demeanor on the practice field.
"I liked the intensity," he said. "A lot of people were getting fired up, screaming and yelling."
This is Lugo's second visit to Northwestern. he was on hand for the Wildcats' loss to Michigan State last fall, and since he hasn't had a chance to tour the campus, he may come back and receive an official tour another time.
Along with Northwestern, Lugo is also interested in Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Northern Illinois, Toledo, and Tulsa. He has no offers yet, but is still busy setting up visits, and just received invites to junior days at Northern Illinois, Toledo, and Tulsa.
"I'm going to Northern Illinois in April and March 19 I'm at Toledo," he said. "I still have to get my date for Tulsa."
With so many schools still on the table, Lugo hasn't picked out a favorite, although he said that Northwestern, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Northern Illinois, and Toledo, in no particular order, are his top five at the moment.
Does he know when he plans to commit to a school?
"Not exactly at the moment, but if there is an offer on the table, it's something I'm going to go for," he said.
