'Cats In Control At Halftime

NIT First-Round, Halftime: Northwestern: 38, Milwaukee: 26

An 18-0 run has Northwestern on top of Milwaukee, 38-26 at the halftime break.

John Shurna leads all scorers with 13 points, while Michael Thompson has 12 points. Leading Milwaukee was Anthony Hill with seven points.

Midway through the first half, Milwaukee owned a 16-13 lead. After a timeout, Northwestern took control. The Wildcats went on an 18-0 run, and completely shut down Milwaukee's scoring attack. That run gave the Wildcats a 15-point lead. Milwaukee would regain their shooting stroke, but could not cut the deficit closer than nine points.

Part of Northwestern's success can be attributed to their success on the boards. The Wildcats have out-rebounded Milwaukee 18-11, and have pulled in six offensive rebounds.

The Wildcats shot 41.9% from the field in the first half, compared to Milwaukee's 31.9%.

Sophomore guard Alex Marcotullio was again in the starting lineup. This is his third-consecutive start. Mike Capocci has returned to the team, after suffering a concussion.
